NHS

NHS eye tests and entitlements

If you are on a low income or still in education, then you may be entitled to assistance with the cost of glasses and sight tests. Sight tests are automatically paid for by the NHS if you are under 16 or over 60. If you have a NHS tax credit exemption certificate then you can request a free NHS sight test with us. Book an appointment at SPH Opticians today, provide your certificate, and you will receive a free NHS eye test and help towards spectacles if necessary.

NHS entitlements

The NHS will provide help towards spectacles if they have been prescribed for you. We have a range of frames that are completely free, or you can use the help towards any of our fantastic range of frames so you don’t have to miss out.

Do you or your partner receive:
  • Income support?
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance?
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance?
  • Pension Credit?
  • Guarantee Credit?
Then you are entitled to full health costs, including sight tests, spectacle purchases and diabetes screening.
